Each morning, before you do anything else, write three pages by hand. Write whatever comes to mind. Do not stop. Do not edit. Do not worry about quality. Just write until you fill three pages.
This practice clears your mind. It gets all the thoughts, worries, and ideas out of your head and onto paper. Once they are written, they take up less mental space. Your mind becomes clearer for the day ahead.
Morning pages also surface insights. When you write without filtering, you discover thoughts you did not know you had. Problems begin to solve themselves. Ideas emerge. Clarity appears.
Try it tomorrow morning. Set your alarm ten minutes earlier. Write three pages before you do anything else. Notice how much clearer your mind feels for the rest of the day.
