Most decisions focus on what will be gained. But wise decisions also consider what will be lost. The opportunity foregone. The path not taken. The alternative sacrificed.
Make opportunity costs explicit. When you say yes to something, ask what you are saying no to. When the hidden costs become visible, better decisions follow.
