This is a day for small joys. The sound of a kettle at the right moment. The fit of a well loved sweater. A page that makes you pause for a reason you cannot quite name. Allow these moments to take up their full space. They cost little and return more than they take.

Set work aside if you can. If you cannot, lighten it. Do only the parts that keep the wheel round. Leave the polishing for a brighter hour. A gentle approach makes room for others and for the version of you that sleeps more easily at night.

Walk outside for a few minutes, even if the air bites. Let your eyes travel farther than the walls. When you return, the room will feel kinder for having been left and met again. This is one way to love a place: you leave it and then you come back.

Keep the day plain. It will shine on its own.
