A good question is a tool, not a trap. It does not corner you. It points and invites. When you find the right question for a piece of work, paths appear that were hidden under vaguer hopes.
Make your question specific enough to act on. Instead of asking what is wrong with this chapter, ask which section fails to carry its part of the idea and how you might lighten it. Replace what should this design feel like with where does the eye land first and where does it go next.
Kindness matters. Questions that shame are poor guides. Questions that assume your future ability are better. How could I make a clearer first step here is enough to move a day.
Write your question on a card and keep it near. Each time you drift, point yourself with it. By evening, the card will be soft at the corners, a sign that it did its work.
